Each of the paintings is an original watercolor. The paintings are sprayed with a thin fixative to protect and waterproof them. The "frames" or "settings" are cut from either Gaboon or Macassar ebony. Ornamentation is of solid sterling silver, and the "Wood" kanji is in red enamel. Each pendant is supplied with a 16" black rubber cord with a sterling clasp.

Moon Windows are a feature in Japanese architecture. In Zen circular windows represent spiritual enlightenment, the corners and rough edges being worn off, or otherwise transcended. Aesthetically, moon windows and moon gates were purposed to framing the natural world and presenting it to the viewer from inside their rooms.
Jeff and I have been talking about collaborating on a series of pendants based on the moon window model. The only pendant that has been completed is Consider This. The other pendants pictured below are mockups of paintings that I have already completed. Translation Island will be set identically to Consider This. Picture Perfect Portrait will be framed in 14k gold rather than sterling silver. The pendants are in process and these two, and more, will be available shortly.
